Fractional resurfacing for smoother
texture and clearer tone

Skin problems don’t usually happen all at once. When you have uneven skin tone, rough texture, fine lines, and old acne scars, the best results usually come from a method that can treat more than one problem at a time in a controlled way. Fraxel is a fractional resurfacing method that improves the overall quality of the skin without the harshness of fully ablative resurfacing. This makes it a more measured choice for people who want to see a difference but don’t want to take a lot of time off work.

What makes it work is consistency. At Mayam Aesthetic, Fraxel is usually planned as a series of treatments instead of just one. This way, your skin looks more natural as it gets better over time. It will still look like your skin, but it will be fresher, smoother, and more even.

What makes Fraxel different

Fractional resurfacing treats the skin in tiny controlled zones rather than treating the entire surface at full intensity. This is why many patients choose it when they want meaningful improvement but still need a practical recovery window.

It also means the plan matters. Settings that are right for pigmentation are not always the same settings that are right for scarring or texture, so one-size treatment rarely gives the best finish.

What your treatment plan can look like

Most patients do best with a course of sessions spaced out to let the skin settle and rebuild. Your plan depends on:

  • how deep the concern sits (surface tone vs deeper texture)
  • how reactive your skin is after irritation
  • your lifestyle and how much downtime you can realistically manage

If you are treating pigmentation, sun discipline becomes part of the plan. If you are treating texture and scars, consistency and pacing become the main priorities.

The first week, explained in a realistic way

Recovery is different for everyone, but most people follow a set pattern:

In the first 48 hours: you may feel warm, red, and sensitive. Don’t rub your skin too hard, and keep your skincare simple and gentle. Depending on the protocol you’re following, some advice says to stay away from certain products like moisturizer and sunscreen for the first 48 hours to cut down on rubbing.

Days 3 to 7: As the skin heals, it may feel dry and rough, like sandpaper. A lot of people want to scrub or “speed it up” at this point. No. Usually, the best way to go is to clean gently and keep your skin hydrated.

The skin keeps settling down over the next few weeks. Many laser protocols say that you should stay out of direct UV light for a few weeks to lower the risk of unwanted pigment changes.

We make sure that our aftercare is easy to follow at Mayam Aestetic so you don’t have to guess what is normal.

How to protect the result

The fastest way to waste a good laser treatment is to treat aftercare casually. Three rules usually make the biggest difference:

  • Avoid UV exposure early in the healing window to reduce pigment risks.
  • Avoid heat and heavy sweating for several days if advised, because heat can prolong redness and irritation in some patients.
  • Keep products gentle and avoid harsh exfoliation until your skin feels fully stable.

Who should be cautious or postpone

If your skin is currently irritated, tanned, or inflamed in the area being treated, Fraxel laser is not the best choice. If your main goal is to tighten your skin a lot, resurfacing is also not the best choice because it makes skin tone and texture better more reliably than it “lifts.”

A consultation is important here. We would rather put off a session at Mayam Aestetic than treat skin that isn’t healthy and risk longer-lasting irritation or pigment problems.
