Skin and hair
renewal using your
body’s own growth factors

PRP (platelet-rich plasma) is a way to heal that starts with a small blood sample. The platelets are then separated from the rest of the blood. PRP is often used to help skin heal and, in some cases, early hair thinning because platelets have growth factors that help the body heal itself.

The PRP method at Mayam Aesthetic is meant to make you look better in a way that looks natural and happens slowly. You won’t see a big change right away; instead, you’ll see your own tissue getting healthier.

Where PRP fits best

PRP is usually chosen for “skin quality” goals rather than face reshaping:

  • Skin refresh and texture support: dullness, early fine lines, uneven texture, and post-acne marks.
  • Combination work: PRP may be used alongside treatments like microneedling to support collagen-related improvement.
  • Scalp support: PRP can be injected into areas of thinning to support follicles, typically as a short course.

PRP is not a surgical lift and it will not turn the clock back completely. The aim is subtle, believable improvement over time.

How the treatment is done

A PRP appointment has three core stages:

  1. Blood draw: a small amount of blood is taken from your arm.
  2. Separation: the sample is placed into a centrifuge to separate platelet-rich plasma from other components.
  3. Delivery: the PRP is then applied or injected into the planned area, depending on the goal.

In some protocols, enhanced processing is used to further concentrate platelets and growth factors, aiming for a more potent regenerative signal.

Short-term settling phase

PRP uses needles, so mild side effects that go away quickly are common:

  • Redness and slight swelling
  • Tenderness or tightness
  • Small bruises at the injection sites

Most of the time, these go away in a few days. You might also feel a brief sunburn-like warmth while the skin calms down if you use PRP and microneedling together.

Aftercare that keeps things calm

Aftercare is generally simple:

  • keep the area clean and avoid rubbing for the rest of the day
  • follow guidance on exercise, heat exposure, and swimming for the first couple of days, particularly if a paired procedure has disrupted the skin barrier
  • use consistent sun protection when treating the face, especially if you are prone to pigmentation

When you’ll notice change

PRP isn’t a treatment that works right away; it takes time to see its full effects. Some people notice a “fresher” look on their skin right away after the swelling goes down, but the real changes happen over the next few weeks as the skin gets better. For hair, the results are looked at over months, and PRP is usually done in a series of sessions instead of just one visit. This is because consistency is what lets you know if you are really getting better.

Mayam Aesthetic makes sure that your PRP plan has realistic goals from the start so that you know what to expect and can easily see how far you’ve come. You’ll know when to look at the results again, what “good progress” should look like at each stage, and when it might be time to think about maintenance.

When to pause and when to proceed

PRP uses your own blood product, so allergic reactions are not expected, but it remains a medical procedure. A proper consultation should include a review of medicines or supplements that affect bleeding or bruising and a check for active infection or inflamed skin in the treatment area.
